OK, this may be a short post. I say that because I am the kind of person that can let it go pretty easily. I have Vulcan tendencies. For non-Trekkies, that means I don't get so emotional or I try and keep them in check. Vulcans are trained to suppress emotion and live by logic. Unfortunately, we real people don't have that luxury.
Past hurts tend to be anchors. Think, if you are trying to move on and you are anchored down, how far are you going to get? You will only be able to go as far as the chain length will allow. Well, at least you can go around in circles!
Holding on to hurts does not help you grow. Learning from your hurts does. That can help you grow and can start a healing process. There are some fruits that come from hurts. I'm being facetious, fruits are a good thing. One example that immediately comes to mind, as I recently witnessed, is rage. Woah Nellie! Not a productive response to a hurt that happened to the individual. One of the more popular results of a hurt, which I'm sure many of us experienced, is the effect of a breakup. Some people do exhibit rage others get depressed, others sorrowful. I can go on and on with different results of such a tragic event in our lives. But, the point is, how do you let go?
I don't have a complete answer for that question and I don't think anybody does. Actually, I take that back. If you know the Word, He said in Luke 10:19 "Behold , I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." There you go.
.
I do want to leave you with a quote though, if you're hurt is making you bitter:
"Hardening of the heart ages people more quickly
than hardening of the arteries" - Franklin Field
Well, what do you know? The post wasn't that teeny after all.

What does your favorite color mean to you?
http://www.jango.com/music/Eiffel+65?l=0
Ah blue! What a lovely color! It has always been my favorite for as long as I can remember. Perhaps it is a natural instinct for me to gravitate towards blue. Maybe it was engrained in me since birth with my baby things and room being blue. Who knows? Whatever the reason is, I can say with the uttermost certainty that blue is and always will be my favorite color.
To answer my title question, blue means several things to me. At times it means masculinity without the machismo. Other times it means a calm, peaceful tranquility. That to me indicates that blue is a versatile color that has a nice range of possibilites. If you were to ask me what color would describe me, I would say blue.
Think about this for a minute, why did God choose to make our perception of the sky blue? I don't know, but I'll say because it's an awesome color! Don't get me wrong, I do love the pink looking sunsets, but you only see them if there are clouds in the horizon.
And our seas? What looks better, a beach with green water or blue? I've been in both, and the bluer looking waters appeal to me more. I've been in crystal clear waters also, but come on, clear is not a color.
Windows XP has a wallpaper called Azul (blue in spanish). It is a photo of a small tropical island with palm trees and a sailboat near by. The sky and water are blue. Nothing of the hustle and bustle of the modern world to occupy the mind. If that's what heaven is like, I'm so there! I love it!
It sounds like I'm trying to persuade you to make the color blue your favorite, I'm not. I just got excited because I love tropical settings. I'm sure if you have been to a tropical place, you share my joy of it. But I must say, if it wasn't for green, palm trees would look kind of funny.
Ok whatever, I like blue and it means I'm cool. So there!
